Dressing for the Holidays...and other festivities

Monday, February 1, 2016

My timing is horrible. This post was meant to be for the holidays and yet it is the first of February but it is still totally relevant. Winter is still here for a few more weeks and looking fly yet warm is still in effect. So here I was walking down Tempe Town Lake in the middle of the day dresses like a celebrity. This shoot was a lot of fun and the reason behind this much glamour is simple. I have
recently noticed while attending events such as birthdays, dinners and holidays many of the guests were not wearing the proper attire. Now, I have always loved dressing up and I am a true believer in being over dressed rather than under dressed. However, I also believe that dirty tennis shoes and old T shirts are not appropriate at any time unless you're doing yard work at home. Don't get me wrong I don't mean wearing labels because a label does not by any means give you style or make you a movie star but putting some effort in your wardrobe and personal style is important when attending some of these events.

Holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve should be the most glamorous events of the year. These are opportunities to wear something creative and fancy. This is the opportunity for you to wear that sequin dress and that polka dot blazer. Yes it is cold in most places around the world but that does not mean you have to forego that fabulous outfit that you have spent so much on or have been looking forward to wearing. I feel as if a person who doesn't look their best might not care about their personal appearance and probably does not care about the event they're attending either. It does not take a lot of money to look like a million bucks and doesn't have to be a special occasion for you to dress up either. Yes wear those heels to work on a Monday and yes dude that button down looks great on you for casual Friday. Who says your hair has to be curled and hair sprayed to be glamorous? Braid it, crimp it, tease it, clip it and put it in a faux hawk. No matter what it is and where you are just own it and never be the one who's under dressed.
