Phoenix Fashion Week

Thursday, October 8, 2015

There are moments in everyone's life when they make you realize exactly where you are meant to be. That is exactly what I felt as soon as I arrived to Friday night's show for Phoenix Fashion Week. The show took place at one of Phoenix's most glamorous Casinos, The Talking Stick. The early events included the Style Villa which showcased clothing and accessories from all of the featured designers which was open to the public. The perfect time to mingle and meet other fellow bloggers while sipping on Pinot Noir. Once I had my ticket it was time to take a seat and wait for the show. Now I don't mean to boast, but I was sitting behind Miss Arizona and Miss Teen Arizona and all of Scottsdale's elite. Everyone who's everyone in the Arizona fashion scene was there. From the red carpet to the seating and the glamour, I felt like a movie star. I was elated and even though I was alone, I was having the best time.
I think that only people that understand the fashion industry can understand what this means to me and to those other girls out there. For myself, it is not a form of bragging or binge shopping, it is a lifestyle. It is in your blood. Certain things like bargain shopping and selecting those vintage gems come naturally to me. Wearing things that are basic and simple just doesn't cut it. I get a feeling of blah and always end up wearing something entirely different than the previous. That's just me. I am comfortable in heels, I love basic black and I'm not afraid to look different. In fact, I strive for different and never before seen. We are always being judged. I know some of you might be reading this but possibly judging me. However, I ask that you look at things differently. There are girls out there, with Blogs, Vlogs and Shops who are managing their own sites, their own technology and their own marketing without any experience. They have a voice and are being heard. I know I've taken tips from some of those tutorials and DIYs and I'm not ashamed to say it. I think that's amazing and I think we should be supporting each other and empowering each other. My goal is to someday help others in any way just as you all have helped me. Girl Power!

The dress:
I had originally purchased this dress for a wedding in the summer. However those plans were cancelled. I didn't want to return it because it is just so beautiful and I knew there would be an occasion where I'd be able to take this baby out of the closet. I was so excited to finally wear it and i know that some of these pictures aren't as clear as I would like them to be because they were taken with my phone, but it received a lot of compliments throughout the night.
